According to Pop Star, July 2008 issue, Selena Gomez is going to be recording an album.

It is about time!!! She is a wonderful singer, and it is time that she gets credit for it.

“Yes. I am! I love music, Gomez tells the magazine. “I wanna start on my album this year, actually. I’m excited. I’m gonna do it a little bit differently than the other Disney Channel stars have done it. I’m gonna be in a band. I would like to be in a band. I wanna be the female lead singer and then four guys in a band. Kind of a Paramore-ish kinda thing. Just something a little bit different, like a girl version of the Jonas Brothers.”

Even though Selena is more of a Rock Girl, she still loves slow passionate songs.

So who is her favorite idol? “Paramore, for sure, which gave me the inspiration of being in a band. She’s so confident and she’s a girl and she’s gotten a lot of stuff for being a girl and being in a band, but now look at where she is after all she’s gone through, I admire her very much,
