According to the December 2008 Issue of J-14 Magazine, Selena Gomez has taken over a chair for the Amberwatch Foundation Youth Coalition, which was held by singers Aly & AJ.

“I want kids to just teach each other kids to be safe,” Selena told the magazine.

Selena Was Accused of Being a CopyCat

As many of you know Selena and Demi have their own Youtube show. Sometimes though the comments people leave are not so nice, according to J-14 Magazine.

“We do read the comments, and that’s not a good thing. It’s so funny to me that people overanalyze everything that we do. When we see, ‘Oh, she’s wearing a shirt that someone lese wore- -She’s so copying that person,’ then we look at the picture, and Demi and I ae like, ‘Didn’t you buy that like two years ago?’”

“I can’t be my own person is what I figured out. With everything that I do, I’m Copying someone.”

Selena has decided to try not to let it bother her.

“The people who support us, those are the people who matter to us.”

According to www.eonline.com, Selena Gomez does not agree with Country singer, Carrie Underwood’s thinking that celebrities should not speak up on a candidate that they will be voting for.

“A lot of people do look up to certain celebrities and will follow in their footsteps,” Gomez said. “I think you just have to be aware of what you’re saying.”

“I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate,” Carrie told TV Guide.

I can see both points, but I feel that Selena is right. Many people would like to know who their favorite celebrities are or would be voting for. That doesn’t mean that you go blinding in picking whom they back. You should always research.

“I’m glad that people are getting involved with the election. This election has been the biggest with celebrities.”

That is true. You heard many of them stepping up and saying whom they would like to become the next president.

“I’m not really sure who I would pick to run our country,” Gomez said. “It’s kind of nice not to be able to vote, because I may not be as ready to as I will be in the future.”

Selena recently started her own production company, July Moon Productions, to develop feature-film projects. “I’ll have my own control of my career and what my movie decisions will be,” she said. “I want to make sure I choose roles that will challenge me as an actress.”

Starting her own production company was a great thing to do. Ashley Tisdale has one, and the first actress I have heard of doing that was Sabrina: The Teenage Witch actress, Melissa Joan Hart.

“Yes, absolutely!” Selena said. “Me and my best friend Demi Lovato have a tradition that we’ve been doing ever since I can remember.”

“We actually wear masks,” Gomez said. “So it’s so funny because people don’t even know we’re walking by them.”

This year Selena is going to go dressed up as June Carter Cash. But what about dressing up as Johnny Cash?

“No, I wish I had a Johnny Cash! I really do, but I don’t have one!”

I think Selena will make a great June Carter Cash.

Selena is Proud of Being on “Barney.”

According to www.cbsnews.com, Selena is not embarrassed about being on the kids show Barney.“I learned everything from that show (”Barney & Friends”). So it’s such a wonderful memory to me. A lot of people would be embarrassed to say they were on ‘Barney’ but I embrace the fact and I had such a wonderful time doing that show,” Gomez told Early Show co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez.

There is not any reason for her to be embarrassed about her resume.

Like many of you know Selena met her best friend, Demi Lovato, on the show.

“We’re going through the madness together. Thank goodness,” Gomez said. “I’m so blessed and I’m so happy that she’s there because you meet a lot of people that you may not be able to trust, so I’m happy that I have her.”

Maggie Rodriguez commented on the fact that Selena and Demi are great roles.

“I’m glad that my job is to be a role model. But, at the same time, we’re all 16-year-olds and we’re going to make mistakes. I’m going to try my hardest to make those mistakes to myself and not let it interfere with my connection to my fans whatsoever,” Selena said.

For a while I was wonder if she was named after the Mexican-American. Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, who was known for being called “The Queen of Tejano music.” Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was murdered on March 31, 1995, buy Yolanda Saldívar, the president of her fan club.

Selena Gomez was named after her. Gomez keeps ground by her parents.

“Absolutely. It’s my parents a hundred percent. They are always there to tell me ‘no’ and make sure that they’ll take me right back to Texas and they will show me where I came from,” Selena said.

Selena feels like she has fallowed in Selena Quintanilla-Pérez because she likes to sing.

“I kind of think that. I’m the reincarnation of her,” Gomez joked.

But she really loves acting.

“I have a passion for music as well, but I think I would see my career focusing more on acting,”

Selena is excited that “Wizards of Waverly Place” is a hit.

“I’m so happy,” Gomez said. “I remember we had to pay people to watch our show the first season and now we have fans that come every single week. It’s great.”

I cannot image having to pay people to watch their show. It is a wonderful show. It is one of my favorites.

 Selena is Worried About Her Driving Test

Selena Gomez doesn’t think she will ever pass her driving test for another 14 years, according to www.sfgate.com.

Selena is booked to take her test on November 4, but she has no confidence in herself. Also, she does not think she will pass on the first try.

“I had to take 19 tests in California! It’s the weirdest thing ever. I have to take, like, an online course, and then I have to go take my actual permit test at the DMV. So I will take that November 4, but I don’t know, Selena told people.com. “I’m not feeling that confident about it. I’m assuming I’ll be 30 before I get my license!”

There are even times when Selena doesn’t feel confident, like everyone. I am sure that Selena will do great on her test.

  “Wizards of Waverly Place”

According to Jocelyn Vena, writer for www.mtv.com, that “Wizards of Waverly Place” is going to be made into a movie.

“Yes! We actually want to shoot it here in New York,” Selena told MTV News. So what could the movie be about? “I think it would have to be that our secret is about to be exposed.”

Now that would be a great movie.

Global Warming

Selena Gomez sat down with “M” Magazine (September 2008 issue) and talked about global warming and her first day of sixth grade.

“I’d like to end global warming. It’s a huge issue and I think it’s possible if people would do more. Me and my mom want to get hybrid cars.”

It is always good to help out the environment by doing what you can do.

Then she talked to them out her first day of sixth grade and her hair. Selena has naturally curly hair, so her mom straighten it for her.

“I felt like the prettiest think ever.”

But Selena forgot one major factor about living in Texas.

“The Texas humidity and hotness got to my hair and it because just huge. To top it off, I forgot my hair rubber band - - and I always have one around my wrist!”

According to www.aceshowbiz.com, Selena and her co-star Jennifer Stone, were seen skateboarding around her Los Angeles neighborhood on October 4^th.

Selena and Jennifer were wearing the same shirt. A white t-shirt with fellow Disney actor and singer Mitchel Musso’s face plastered on its front. The t-shirt also had the text, “This reminds me of a fairytale … except it’s real.”

Earlier that day Selena and Jennifer were at the “Target Presents Variety’s Power of Youth” benefitting St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which was held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Some of the other performers that were there were Kofi Siriboe, Miranda Cosgrove and David Henry.

Selena is a Wild Child?

According to http://fametastic.co.uk, Selena Gomez told TV Guide recently that, ” I am too boring to be a wild child.”

I think that is great. Maybe some of the up and coming celebrities have seen what has happen in the past, and they have decided that they are not going to take the same road.

“I’m going to do the best that I can do, but I am 16 and I am going to make mistakes - no one’s perfect. To be honest, I’m quite boring! I love to go bowling and to the movies. [And] when it comes to my wardrobe, I think I dress like a 30-year-old woman.”

I guess it is a good thing that she dresses like a “30-year-old woman.”

“Runway For Life”

According to http://news.sawf.org, Selena attend the 5th annual “Runway For Life” benefit, which was hosted by St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The benefit was held on October 11 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

According Emmet Sullivan, writer for www.people.com, Selena is talking about her “relationship” with Nick.

“I’ve gotten really close to the entire Jonas family this past year,” she tells the magazine. “Nick and I are getting to know each other, but we’re not confirming anything.” Selena told TV Guide.

There is something Selena would admit regarding Shia LaBeouf.

“I’ve had a crush on him ever since he was on Even Stevens,” Gomez admits. “It’s very far-fetched, but I would love to have Shia on Wizards.”

Nothing is too “far-fetched.” There is always that possible that Shia could make a guest appearance on Wizards. She will never know if she doesn’t ask.

Unicef’s 2008 Trick-or-Treat Campaign

According to www.postchronicle.com, Selena Gomez is the new spokesperson for the charity Unicef’s 2008 Trick-or-Treat campaign. This will be it’s campaign’s 58^th year.

The charity wants children to think about people worse of than themselves.

“I am extremely excited to be this year’s Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF spokesperson,” the Selena Gomez said to www.eonline.com . “I want to help encourage other kids to make a difference in the world.”

Selena’s New Band

Selena Gomez is ready to start auditioning band mates, according to www.aceshowbiz.com.

“We plan on holding auditions in Hollywood,”Selena Gomez said in a statement. “And in the meantime I will be in the studio recording some of the songs.”

“As far as actual band members right now, we do not have any, but it is getting closer and closer and I am really excited to be in the studio,” she adds.

I cannot wait until Selena puts out an album.

“I basically want to make music that is fun and that parents and kids can jump around to and have a good time to,” she said. “I will be singing, and I’m learning drums and playing electric guitar.”

She is on her way to having her own band. Next she needs to get the word out about the auditions.

On The Today Show, Al Roker asked Selena about the new season of Wizards of Waverly Place.“This season, we wanted to come back and top ourselves from the first season. A lot of new crazy magic spells are happening. You also see a more real side because at the same time, we want to be relate-able. [My character] Alex goes through the struggle of first date jitters and fights with her best friend.”

This season is going to be a great one. I cannot wait. If I am not mistaken, some of the new episodes are showing on Disney Channel.

Selena Talking About Demi

The October 3, 2008 issue of “Entertainment Weekly,” asked Selena about meeting Demi around ten years ago.

“It was scorching hot, July. We were in line with 1,400 kids and we happened to be standing right next to each other. She had a little bow in her hair, and she turned around and she looked at me and said, “Do you want to color?” She laid her blue jean jacket down and we started to color. And after that we had a couple more call backs, and I saw her from the other side of the room and it was kind of a movie moment. We still joked about it. We were inseparable after doing two season together, and our moms are best friends now. Later, we homeschooled together, went on auditions together, everything. And her mom even took me to the audition that got me on the Disney Channel!”

What a great friendship that Selena and Demi have. They are lucky to have each other.

Selena Gomez was spotted in the front row of “Dancing With The Stars,” on Wednesday Sept 24^th. She was there to support Hannah Montana’s Cody Linley, but also that night the Jonas Brothers Preformed their song, “Love Bug.” She even gave the brothers a standing ovation after they finished, according to www.aceshowbiz.com.

Not only did she give the Jonas Brothers a standing ovation, she was excited for Cody Linley when everyone found out that Cody was going to the next round.

Even though she was there to support Cody, she told the press she would be “voting nonstop” for her pal Kim Kardashian.

That is kind of confusing . . . Why wouldn’t she be voting for Cody? She can always split her votes.

Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez Caught Out Together

According to www.aceshowbiz.com, Selena and Nick were seen out at dinner on Sunday night, September 21. The couple were having dinner at Osteria La Buca, which is near the Paramount Studios.

According to E! News, the couple “sat in the secluded upstairs section that only holds about four tables.” It was possible that they were celebrating the release of Another Cinderella Story.

The couple, only, ate dinner. There was not public display of affection - - not even holding hands.

To Eat a Pickle or Not to Eat a Pickle

According to www.aceshowbiz.com, Selena Gomez talked to E! Online’s Marc Malkin about how she kept her kiss with co-star, from “Another Cinderella Story,” Drew Seely from getting passionate.

“He hates pickles and I love pickles, so I’d eat some pickles,” Selena told Malkin. How can he hate pickles? I love them, and almost everyone I know likes them.

It did take ten takes to get the kiss with Seely right.

“You know, for me, it was a job, and for him as well, too.” She then jokingly added, “but I’m not complaining. He’s not bad to look at” I guess that makes the kissing scene a lot better to handle.

There will always be people that have a problem with their body image, and that will mess with their confidence. Some do not like their weight, nose, cheeks, eyes, hair or how short they are. According to the August 2008 issue of J-14, Selena Gomez even has a confidence problem.

“I’m not confident in myself, so I get down on myself and I believe some of the online stuff,” Selena told J-14 Magazine. “Demi’s the kind of person who is honest with me, and there to support me and tell me, ‘Don’t listen to that. Know who you are.’ And that really means a lot to me- - because she’s honest with me and really harsh, but she does it because she loves me.”

It is hard to believe that Selena is not confident, but we do not get to see her behind the scenes like Demi does.

Demi is right when she tells Selena not to listen to them. She is the one that knows the truth about herself. I have, as of yet, seen anything written about Selena that is bad. But . . . I am sure there has been some. Just don’t believe all the negative stuff you hear.

Disney is A Great Company to Work For

Selena’s new movie “Another Cinderella Story,” is out now. Selena talks to MTV about her character Mary.

“She’s a little different [from the original Cinderella] by the fact that she’s a dancer,” Selena told MTV News. “I think that brings a whole new element to the movie. She’s an aspiring dancer, and she wants to go after her dreams. She sings as well. It’s her achieving her dreams in a different way.”

With many musical numbers, what was Selena’s favorite?

“My favorite musical number has to be the tango piece,” Gomez said. “It’s when the two characters meet and fall in love. It’s one of the hardest dances I’ve learned, but the most beautiful.”

The tango does look hard to do. I wonder if she would possibly be interested in Dancing With The Stars. I am sure she would go far. Oh no, I am not addicted.

It looks like Selena agrees with me that Disney is a great company to work for.

“It’s crazy to see how big Disney can make people, and it’s wonderful,” Gomez said. “I feel blessed to be a part of the company, and they take care of their kids. I just think it has a good strong foundation to lean on.”

Not Right For Selena

According to Marc Malkin, writer for www.eonline.com, Candace Bushnel author of Sex and the City, will be writing two young adult novels about Bradshaw, when she was in High School.

I am sure that there will be either a movie or t.v. show that will be based on the novels, but Selena doesn’t want anything to do with it.

“That’s not really the audience I’m going for,” Gomez, said at Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. “I mean, my mom loves the show and it’s a very popular show, but that’s not the direction I’m looking to take at this time.”

It is Selena’s choice, but personally I would have to read the books rather than the scripts. She is writing two young adult novels . . . How bad can they be?

“Unless we protect the environment, half the world’s amphibians will become extinct,” Selena says, calling attention to the problem. “What happens to frogs today, can affect people in the future.”

That is true. Selena is interested in helping and calling attention to environmental causes.

“I’m Sorry” is Not About Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus

The talented actress and singer, Selena Gomez has denied that her new song, “I’m Sorry” is not about Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus, according to Laura Elias, writer for www.entertainmentwise.com. The song is about Selena or a girl, who likes this boy who cannot get over his ex.

“It’s definitely not about Nick Jonas. It’s about someone back home in Texas,” Selena tells People.

I do not think I have heard that yet. I think I will look for it.

Selena and Nick Jonas are still denying that they are a couple.

“When I read it, I was like, ‘Oh no, this gossip has to go away!’ I haven’t known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I’ve gotten really close with all of them,” Gomez adds.
